【Purpose】 To evaluate the extent of lesions in the mandibular molar and ramus regions, determine the position of impacted teeth, assess mandibular fractures, and locate salivary calculi.

【Projection angle】 The central ray is directed toward the mandibular molar region on the side being examined, at approximately 45° to the midsagittal plane and −45° to the film plane.
